4 to 12, 2006, I went to Seattle (USA) to meet some old
friends and know the new ones who are all engaged with
the Dependable Strengths Articulation Process (DSAP).
The Board of Trustees of the Center for Dependable Strengths
(CDS) gave me a special warm welcome as we have finally
signed a contract for setting up the China Center for
Dependable Strengths (CCDS) in order to help the Chinese
to discover his or her own core strengths for self-actualization.
In addition, I also joined a 5-Day DS Facilitator Training
as a trainer with my American counterparts for those professionals
who want to be the DS instructors for the people in their
own local communities. |

This is truly a fascinating experience
for me to come back to refresh and renew my knowledge and
skills on DSAP. It really refuels me for my further endeavor
to promote DSAP in China. Eleven years ago, four colleagues
and I went to Seattle to attend a 5-Day DS Training for being
a DS instructor. We were so lucky and honored to meet and
be trained by Dr. Haldane and Mrs. Haldane along with their
close colleagues for this special and amazing process. However,
we would not have been able to get DSAP developed in China
at that time due to immature eco-social environment.
Today, the situation in China has greatly changed. The potential
demand for DSAP has already come up to the surface. When people
are confronting ever-sever competition and social problems,
they come to realize the importance of assuming their own
responsibility. DSAP is an extremely powerful and effective
tool to help people know the best part of the self and thus
to fulfill self-dreams by utilizing their own dependable strengths.
The establishment of CCDS in China, as I said to Mrs. Haldane
during my short visit, is the significant symbol that means
the torch of Dependable Strengths is being carried on continuously
in China. There must be some challenges on our way forward.
Nevertheless, this trip to Seattle has definitely strengthened
my strengths. We will use our dependable strengths to overcome
the difficulties and meet the challenges. The word “crisis”
in Chinese combines two characters. One is “danger”
and the other is “opportunity.” We will surely
utilize our opportunity to conquer the danger.
